What a ride!! I haven’t been this glued to a book in years and really couldn’t put it down.

“Move Over Jack Reacher! Harry Harrigan brings us an exciting new character who would be a clear match of Reacher! Great fast paced story, excitement on every page. I’m looking forward to the sequels.”

“Lots of action, interesting characters, twists of plot – all keep you turning pages until you finish . . .”

“Master Sergeant Keane is brilliant, from his choice of music to his taste in motorcycles. Great read, could not put it down. Looking forward to more from the Sergeant.”

“What a ride! I haven’t been this glued to a book in years and really couldn’t put it down. Road King, the main character in this fast moving adventure, accumulates a very likeable troupe of side-kicks to join this unfolding plot of one thing leads to another. It twists and turns just like a run on the Blue Ridge Parkway and is full of surprises at every bend in the road. I sincerely hope Harry Harrigan continues this series – I can hardly wait for the next one (after the second one that I already have on order). Read it, you’ll love it.”

“I loved this book because it grabs your attention right away! It keeps your attention till the end with action packed twists and turns. Anyone who enjoys Dean Koontz and James Patterson will love this book.”

“Really impressed with this book! It was an exciting page turner with very descriptive scenery and detail. Characters were well formed and intriguing. Great story. I’d like to read more of Keane and Magnus, Alice, Ace and Winter Rose. Only bad thing is that there isn’t another book in the chronicles yet!”

“I was upset when the story was over. I wanted more.”

“Classic novel geared toward gear heads. The author mentions John D MacDonald and it is a favorable comparison. Clear concise prose, worth the time.”

“Excellent combination of John D MacDonald for storyline and Clement Salvadori for motorcycle knowledge. Good writing. Rare combination. Feels real.”

“An exciting and fast paced book. I brought it on vacation and finished it in two days – each chapter leaves you wanting to see what happens next. Great characters, exciting plot and lots of action. Looking forward to the next installment.”

“I won this book from Goodreads Giveaways. It was quite an exciting adventure. I started it and had a hard time putting it down. The story involves a retired Army Ranger who rescues a woman from her attackers, then saves his friend from armed thugs. The plot thickens from there. I look forward to the next book Mr. Harrigan writes.”

I can’t praise this book highly enough. It’s written in the first person, and in a voice that really does sound like someone telling a story. In terms of grammar, punctuation, spelling and the like, it’s close to perfect. It deals with three of my favorite subjects: firearms, motorcycles, and the Army. And it deals with them realistically. None of the characters are superheroes, and I didn’t notice a single technical error. The story is different enough from everyday experience to be exciting, yet it never crosses the line into farce. And, unlike most modern authors, Mr. Harrigan never beomes politically correct or preachy.
The ending? A total surprise. Never came close to figuring it out.

“Now Blue Ridge Run is what I call a great book! I’ve read many books but very few of such outstanding caliber. The content is remarkable, the characters draw you in and a surprise ending to boot. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Bravo Harry, Bravo!”

“If you’ve ever wished for more Travis McGee, only updated and more intense, your wish has come true . . .”

“The story grabs you and doesn’t let go. The descriptions of the people and places make you feel like you’re right there with them and I love the characters, especially Winter Rose. Whether you’re into motorcycles or not, this story will take you for a ride.”

“I received a copy of The Road King Chronicles Blue Ridge Run by Harry Harrigan in a giveaway in exchange for an unbiased review. When I began this story I thought this would be another over the top army hero who gets into trouble and solves his problems with his fists and guns and who gets the girl. Instead I got an interesting story about a retired army ranger named Roman Keeane who gets caught up in a series of events. The characters have depth and the story is interesting and fast paced. I was reminded of Jack Reacher and Lucas Davenport. I really enjoyed this book and would like to see more in this series. Harry Harrigan has put together a good read and I recommend this book to fans of adventure stories.”

“I won this book through Giveaways and I am so happy that I did! This is the first book in the Road King Chronicles and I hope there will be more to follow. Roman Keane is a fantastic main character, and once I started reading the book, I was hooked. I’m looking forward to many more from Mr. Harrigan!”

“A very entertaining story with many threads that get woven up nicely by Roman Keane and his friends. The writing is very descriptive and characters are almost real. In fact, every time I read one of Mr. Harrigan’s books, I wish Roman was a good friend of mine. Looking forward to the next book in this series.”

“I won this book in a Goodread competition and it is amazing. I read the first and the second book back to back. It’s definitely my favourite one. The writing just gets better and I hope that Mr Harrigan will write a lot more!!”

“I was looking forward to the next book in the Road King Chronicles and Harry Harrigan didn’t disappoint with Second Hand Snake. Roman Keane jumps right into the action as you’d expect, but the star of this tightly woven story is Winter Rose.”

“Harry Harrigan does it again! His second book of the series, The Road King Chronicles: Second Hand Snake, grabs you from the beginning and never lets go. It is amazing how Roman Keane, Winter Rose and their friends solve the many mysteries. Even his twin brother who is a priest helps out this time. You get the feeling of being on a bike with them as you read the story. Very exciting and looking forward to the next book.”

“The Road King Chronicles: Second Hand Snake by Harry Harrigan is the second book in The Road King Chronicles. It continues the adventures of Roman Keane and his friends. You learn more about each of the friends and how they interact and help each other . There are three major threads and mysteries involved. It is well written and keeps your interest. It has plenty of action, relationship[s and mystery. It you enjoy motorcycles there are plenty here given it is part of The Road King Chronicles. Each book is a stand alone so you do not need to read the previous book but I advise you to read the first book. By reading the first book, you will have a greater appreciation of this story. I am looking forward to the next adventures of Roman Keane and his friends.”

Reviews of South Dakota Dead

“This is the third book in the series following Roman Keane, a retired Army Ranger. I would recommend it to those who enjoy books with a lot of action, adventure, and great plots! Hope the next one is in the works.”

Elizabeth Keese

“Breath taking action! Growing relationships, both romantic and plutonic! A murder mystery, with an historical backdrop and a few modern twists. Impossible to put down! Highly recommend!”

Star Quilter

“If you enjoy . . . Balducci’s Will Robie, or wouldn’t dream of missing Lee Child’s latest Jack Reacher or even Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch, then drop every book right now! Pick yourself up a Road King Chronicles series . . . immerse yourself in the Roman Keane character . . . and hit the winding roads of America . . . After you turn that last page and exclaim “what an incredible ride that was,” get out there and tell the world about this new guy on the streets . . .”

Mike E

“Another suspense filled adventure that I could not put down. South Dakota Dead was also interesting and educational. Where else would I find a word like parfleche? Looking forward to more of Roman Keane’s adventures.”

“This is the best of the Road King Chronicles I’ve read. There are several strands of mysterious issues that are tied up very neatly in the end. Mr. Harrigan sent me the book as I am a big fan. I had a hard time putting it down at night.”

avatar

Tammy Downing

“This is the best of the series. It grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. Great plot, new and delightful characters and the writing keeps you turning pages. A great read with interesting twists.”

Joe Ristuccia

“. . . Roman Keane is a free spirit. he doesn’t want to be tied down to any one person or place. When his old friend Hugh calls and asks for his help, e goes down to South Dakota to see what he can do . . . Lots of twists and turns and surprises along the way. Great story and great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and would recommend it as a must read.”
